Modern Glam: Burgundy Lips Makeup

Hello Beauties!

I have been thinking for quite a while what kind of makeup look I would want to post first. Eventually, I decided that I should go with my signature look, which is burgundy lips. Dark lipstick has always been my weakness and at some point I had some small collection of various burgundy shades of lipsticks in my makeup collection. When I wear such bold lip color I usually opt for quite simple and neutral eye makeup. That is maybe because I just like it when my lips are the main focus. There is something alluring about it but maybe that is just my personal opinion.

 

Why Burgundy

The story behind my obsession about burgundy lips started quite a long while ago. My first lipstick in such shade was NYX Copenhagen which, at that time, was newly launched. Thus, I had to order one from United States as it was unavailable in my country. It was love at the first... apply? I would wear it even as my daily makeup. Love was that strong. Frankly speaking, until today I still love it! It is so handy, easy to apply, and extremely long lasting. That's the real magic of cream matte lipsticks. However, for this look I used Diva from MAC as this one is my current obsession. I love the formula and how easily it glides on. The definite advantage of MAC's lipstick over NYX's is that it is much easier for corrections. NYX is a bit more tricky to reapply when it fades after hours of wearing. MAC lipstick is just smooth literally anytime and I even don't need a mirror to reapply it for the center of my lips where it usually wears off.

You Can Never Go Wrong with Neutral Eye Makeup 

About the eye makeup. I created a simple cat eye smokey look with winged eyeliner. I must admit here that I really like wing eyeliner on my eyes. I like the definition and flirty look that it gives me. I picked neutral eyeshadows because I didn't want my makeup look too bold after all.

What is great about this eye look is that it will look flattering on every eye shape. You just need to find the perfect wing shape that works for your eyes. I know I wrote "just" like it's so easy thing to do but if you love wing eyeliner then you already know how to do it. However, if you don't feel confident to do or wear wing eyeliner you can always skip it and instead you can only tight line your lashline - it will also look great!

I hope you like this makeup look. I certainly do love it and I know I will wear it again and again. Usually I only modify eye makeup depending on my mood but burgundy lipstick is my pick quite often.
